Who are we?

Our French company has been active since 1998—nearly 30 years in the design, manufacture, and marketing of "special glasses" made of cardboard for the direct observation of the "Sun" and "solar eclipses" in complete ophthalmic safety, as well as a device for group observation of the Sun.

Our French Company was created in April 1998, nearly 30 years ago. Its creator and current manager has an extensive professional background in the medical and paramedical fields. Consequently, his career has been shaped by various constraints characterized by high demands in high-tech environments, mastery of technical processes and security protocols, as well as taking into account various developments in techniques and knowledge.

When the SODAP – SOBOMEX Company was founded in 1998, he naturally applied these constraints and safety protocols to the development of eclipse glasses distributed under the brand SKY & SPACE®.

The cardboard required for the manufacturing of our eclipse glasses is "FSC" certified - made from fibers from responsibly managed forests, controlled sources, or recycled materials. This "FSC" certification guarantees traceability throughout the production chain, thus ensuring compliance with rigorous environmental, social, and economic criteria.

Our eclipse glasses are equipped with a dual-layer filter that we invented, developed, and perfected as a world exclusive according to our specific criteria and requirements, in collaboration with an eminent, world-renowned research laboratory. This specific filter quality is manufactured in a sterile atmosphere, combining the highest standards of current technology on one hand and extremely sharp quality control on the other.

Our primary concern is to market a product with flawless ophthalmic safety, featuring a filter that is currently the most advanced in its category, with the aim of also offering maximum visual comfort that is unmatched compared to our competitors' products.

Our filter is 130 mm wide – therefore covering the entire front of our eclipse glasses. As a result, our eclipse glasses cannot be torn or altered, even at the nose bridge. This high-quality, extremely resistant, and tear-proof filter renders a sharp and distinct image of the SUN in an ORANGE shade - just as people imagine it.

For the printing of our eclipse glasses, we use "FSC" certified printing ink, which is an ecological, generally bio-sourced ink.

The bonding of our dual-layer filter is carried out by a cutting-edge industrial technique that accelerates the polymerization of adhesives via an electromagnetic field. This advanced bonding technique allows for very fast setting cycles and great mechanical resistance of our eclipse glasses.

All of these factors have allowed our company to expand to highly demanding clients across all five continents, with undeniable success for our eclipse glasses.

* FSC: FSC-certified forests are managed according to rigorous environmental, social, and economic standards.

All over the world and across five continents, our eclipse glasses
"CE" certified according to the "EN-ISO 12312-2:2015" standard protect you.

They have worn our special glasses for direct observation
